Sunshine Blogger Award Nomination

Humbled, Speechless, Honored, Blessed, and Excited, are just a few words that barely scratch the surface of how I feel right now. To be nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award, for doing what I love, is beyond AMAZING!!! I started writing to encourage others, but had no idea it would go global. This has truly inspired me to continue to do the work the Heavenly Father has entrusted me to do.

Thank you Monaminga for the nomination. You are truly a gem, with a resilient mind, and it translates into your writings. I am honored that you take the time to grace my writings with your eyes.

I appreciate the questions that you’ve asked, and I will answer them in as much detail as possible. Let me first explain the rules for future nominees:

Your Questions Answered

1. How long have you been blogging? I started blogging in November of 2016 as a way to share my heart, encourage, and give hope.
2. Do your friends and family support you in this? I would say yes to those that know I write. Would I like more family and friends to be supportive, of course but at the end of the day, I don’t blog for approval, I blog to change lives.
3. Which is your favorite time of the day? I like the evening because all of my family is home at the same time. To me it means that another prayer was answered.
4. What would be your dream vacation? I never really thought about this question. Anywhere with crystal clear waters. I love being around water because it’s so peaceful.
5. What genre of movies you like best? Oh Boy! I am not much of a movie/TV person, but if I had to choose, I’d have to say movies that have lessons, and positive vibes
6. What do you wake up to? That depends LOL. It could either be my husbands good morning, or my little’s yelling for me to come rescue them from their cribs.
7. Are you a morning person? I would consider myself a morning person. I like to rise with the sun
8. What motivates you? There are many things that motivate me. I love seeing people happy, and winning at this thing called life
9. How do you think your friends see you? There are various aspects to me. I’m silly, serious, funny, and mysterious all in one. I guess it depends on the situation, or moment. I would like to think they see me as well-rounded.
10. What would be your idea for saving the environment from pollution ? Great question, I would say finding a way to make it impossible for people to litter. Ban all toxic chemicals that harm humankind, or the earth.
11. Happy or peaceful, what is more important to you? Can I choose both? There are benefits to both, and a motto to live by.

I enjoyed answering your questions, they forced me to think, and reminded me of some very important reasons as to why I started blogging in the first place.

I nominate the following bloggers because I have been inspired by their writings, and want to thank them for sharing their gift with the world.

Just Be Kind

Image result for national kindness dayIn honor of World Kindness Day, let’s all remember to make kindness a daily part of our lives. Kindness should not be treated like a foreign language, it should be who we are, and something we embrace. Simple acts of kindness changes lives each and every day. We all have been at a point in our lives where a smile from a stranger, hug, or acknowledgment, brightened our day. As beacons of light, we are called to love, and show kindness to everyone. It doesn’t matter the ethnicity, beliefs, or race. At the end of the day, the same Savior that carried the cross for you, carried the cross for everyone else also. It’s not going to always be easy to step outside of yourself and see each and every person through the eyes of Christ; but through Him we are able to strive to love like Him. As you go throughout your day, remember that no act of kindness will ever go wasted. Be kind, be love, spread hope, and go out and be a blessing, even if it’s just a smile.

Believe In Yourself

Throughout most of our lives, we’ve been conditioned to doubt ourselves. Have you ever wanted to climb a tree as a kid, and were told not to because you “might” fall? That is usually where it all starts. Although there is risk, like anything in life, you will soon start to doubt if you can even make it up the first limb. Believing in yourself is not always easy. There will always be those negative memories where someone may have laughed at your dream. There will always be those that will doubt your capabilities; not because they don’t believe you can, but because they don’t believe in themselves. There will always be the limitations of our minds that we will have to prove wrong daily. You have to believe that whatever you are hoping for is possible. Despite what anyone says, or what your current circumstances look like. When you close your eyes, can you see it? Can you see what your life will look like when you arrive? Can you feel the excitement, and the beating of your heart. Are you proud of yourself? How are you currently living? are your actions in alignment with where you desire to be? If you desire a deeper understanding of God, are you investing time in building that relationship? If you desire to write a novel, are you writing? If you desire to lose weight, have you made the necessary lifestyle changes? We have to reprogram our minds to believe, and not doubt. We must believe its possible, visualize, act as if, and take action. Don’t allow fear to rob you of your dreams. Remember that fear is a liar, and only desires to stop you in your tracks. I believe in you. The Heavenly Father knows you can, because He created you with a plan in mind. You know that you are capable of more. Be encouraged today to simply start over if you’ve already quit. Belief in yourself is the beginning, so just start there.

Waiting On A Sign

What do you do when you are no longer sure if the place you are currently in your life, is where God wants you to be? Thoughts of doubt, and confusion somehow starts to make you question the very thing that you were instructed to do. Often times in life, whether it’s in our spiritual walk, or pursuing  personal endeavors, we can feel as though we’ve hit a brick wall. We look around, and see all that we’ve accomplished, but can’t seem to see beyond where we currently are. In the beginning, you were on fire, and excited about going deeper in Christ; but now your excitement seems to have dwindled. Maybe you started working on your passion, and things are not happening the way you envisioned, so you are not longer sure if it’s for you. Whatever it is, know that there will always be opposition. Your very own thoughts can be the opposition you are facing. Overcoming your need and desire for acceptance can be the opposition you are facing. Looking to others for approval can be the opposition you are facing. Often times we pray for a sign from above while neglecting the fact that we have already been instructed. As I remind you, I also remind myself. Continue pursuing your passions. Continue building a beautiful relationship with the Heavenly Father. Continue praying with persistence. Continue writing because one life changed, can easily become a million. I believe that you are right where you need to be, for a time such as this. Stay encouraged, and looking to heaven. In all that you do, serve with a pure heart, and the Heavenly Father will honor you.

Waiting To Start Over

Why do we wait to start things that we know we should be doing? One of the biggest lies that we tell ourselves is that we will wait for a new year to start over, or start something new. We’re constantly sabotaging our own success by putting things off, or waiting. Honestly speaking, I was the best at waiting for a new year to start new things, or start over. I thought that a new year, would somehow create a new me. After years of going around the same mountain, I realized that if the Heavenly Father offers me the opportunity to start over every second of the day, then why should I enforce such rules upon myself?

You don’t have to wait for a new year to forgive. You don’t have to wait for a new year to go deeper in Christ. You don’t have to wait for a new year to start working on your dream. You don’t have to wait for a new year to get healthier, and lose weight. If you want to do it, start now. Anything that we do will come with trial and error, and that’s the beauty of it all. His grace is sufficient when we fall short, or don’t get it right. I challenge you to visit those things that you’ve put off, and ask yourself why. Why, and what are you waiting for? Are you waiting for the perfect time? Are you waiting on your fear to pass? Are you waiting for the approval of others? Or are you just being a little lazy ( LOL ) we’ve all been there. Remember that you have all that you need to start. Believe, have faith, trust the process, and start walking.

More Than Anything

Help me want the Healer more than the healing
Help me want the Savior more than the saving
Help me want the Giver more than the giving
Help me want you Jesus more than anything

-Natalie Grant-

On this long journey called life, there are so many things that keep us distracted from what really matters. A lot of those things wont really matter in the end. We seem to always be in get state of mind, always desiring, and wanting more, and more. Today I am reminded to simply want the one who heals, who saves, and who gives. Jesus, we just want more of you. We want to rest in who you are, and not in what you do, and give us. Search our hearts oh Lord, and make it pure. Help us not to put anything before you. Help us to not always approach your thrown with a get state of mind, but with a mind, and heart of thanksgiving. You are our source, and our reason for being. Today we say thank you for who you are in our lives. Today we say thank you for your mercy, grace, and favor upon our lives. Help us want you Jesus, more than anything.

Give Me Faith

Give me faith to trust what you say, that you’re good and your love is great.

-Elevation Worship-

Some days it’s easier to believe than others. Although we know what God tells us in His word, it can sometimes be overshadowed by our own doubt. We look at the things that are surrounding us, and think to ourselves, How? God how are you going to turn this grain of sand into a mountain? How are you going to take this broken shell, and make it whole again? How are you going to make me into a beautiful masterpiece just as you promised? Before God created the heavens, and the earth, He had a vision. Although there was complete darkness, He saw something so much more than what was there in the present. He saw something new, and then He spoke. In the same way, He already knows everything that you “WILL” be. He sees the grain of sand in your hand. He sees your broken shell. He sees your blank canvas. That’s what’s so amazing about our Heavenly Father, He is the creator of all creators. Sometimes we have to be reminded of all the amazing things God has already done in our lives. When we take moments to reflect, we will see that He has been with us every step of the way. He has been leading, and guiding us. He has been pushing us to step outside of our own minds, so that we can adopt His. He has been encouraging you to keep fighting. He has been telling you to trust Him, and have faith. Since the beginning, He has been with you. He knows the plans He has for you. His plans for you are good, and to do you no harm. He already sees you as a beautiful masterpiece. He already sees you as a mountain. He already sees your shell as a whole. Ask the Heavenly Father to give you faith to trust what He has already said. Ask Him to remind you who He is. Take some time to look within yourself today. You already are, you just need to believe enough to see it.

The Power of Counting Blessings

Counting our blessings is not just about forming an attitude of gratitude; It’s about attracting and allowing room for more positive things to happen in our lives. One would agree that a glass is either half full, or empty based on your perspective. When we focus our attention on our blessings, we have more joy in our lives. Our hearts become merry, and we are able to be love, and share that gift with everyone that crosses our path. When we count our blessings, we shift our mindset from negative thinking, to positive thinking, which affects everything around us. It opens us up to receive more blessings, and positive things in our lives. We develop a new vision, and are able to see God’s hand in our lives even more. Counting our blessings allows us to give constant praise to the Heavenly Father for all He is doing, and has already done for us. When we count our blessings, we are reassured that everything that happens in our lives whether good or bad, will have a positive ending. Whatever things you may be going through in this very moment, has to come to an end. In the same way that the seasons change, so does the seasons of life. Take time to embrace the reasons to be grateful in your life. Allow your mind to be free from the constant state of worry. In all things, continue to acknowledge, and give thanks to the Heavenly Father for the many blessings He continues to pour upon your life. No longer focus on what’s missing from your life, but focus on all that has been added unto you. You are truly blessed, and so is everything around you.

A Shift In Perspective

As I ran out the door, I realized that I had forgotten my cell phone. I dashed back in the house, only to find myself searching for an additional ten minutes. Already running fifteen minutes behind schedule, I then hit traffic that was backed up from the morning rush, and what appeared to be an accident. I let out a sigh of frustration because I was going to be even later for my appointment, my entire day had been ruined because of this one thing.

We can all relate to that short story. We have all had days that did not start so well, and left us frustrated, and mad at the world. If you are like me, that short story somewhat drained you because your aurora is positive energy, and any form of negativity or complaining drains you. It’s easy to look at negative things that happen in our lives from an ungrateful point of view. We seem to grow more impatient, and self-centered everyday, leaving no room for seeing or caring for anyone outside of our circle. Sometimes it’s hard to see all of the positive forces that are at play in our lives, and take so many things for granted. If we took time to look at things from a view-point of gratitude, we would realize how blessed we truly are. ‘Lets rewrite that story.’

As I ran out the door, I realized that I had forgotten my cell phone. I dashed back in the house, only to find myself searching for an additional ten minutes. Already running fifteen minutes behind schedule, I then hit traffic that was backed up from the morning rush, and what appeared to be an accident, that happened about 15 minutes ago. Although I was running fifteen minutes behind, I realized had I not went back for my phone, I too would have been involved in that accident. I began to pray for those involved, and thanked God for the delay in my morning, and His grace. Once I made it to my appointment, I realized that I had written the wrong time down, and was still 30 minutes early. This is going to be a great day!

I pray that you will develop a new perspective regarding the things in your life that appear to be negative. Ask God to give you a new vision, so that you may walk in continuous gratitude for the things that are so easily taken for granted.

Why You Don’t Believe

why is it so hard for us to wrap our minds around the fact that we are unique, and purposed? Why do we continue to walk around defeated, with a defeated mindset? I may not know your exact reasons, but I am pretty sure they are similar to what mine were. We all have things that shape our perspective throughout life. Maybe your perspective was shaped by an unhealthy childhood. Maybe it was shaped by a bad relationship that left you broken, and confused. It could have even been shaped by the people you chose to keep in your circle. For me, all of those things mentioned shaped my beliefs. Experiencing the emotions of childhood rejection, and bad relationships, devalued my belief in myself for years. I couldn’t see past my hurt, and understand that I was purposed for greater. I didn’t believe in myself because no one else really did. Most of our beliefs are impostures of the truth. If your beliefs don’t tell you that you were created with a purpose, it’s an imposture. If your beliefs don’t tell you that there is greatness within you, it’s an imposture. If your beliefs tell you that you are not worthy, unloved, and rejected, it’s an imposture. We have to get rid of our limited beliefs. Those beliefs that tell us the opposite of what God says about us, and our capabilities. You are more than enough. You are not your past. You are more than the bad choices you have made. You are more than what you believe yourself to be. If you think back over your life, you will recall moments of hurt, and pain that impacted your beliefs. I encourage you to face those moments, and no longer allow them to control you anymore. No longer allow them to put false limitations on you. They have no place in your life. They can’t go with you where God is trying to take you. Be encouraged today my friend, and find something, and a reason to believe again. When we believe, we find hope. Where there is hope, there is possibility. I pray that you overcome whatever limited beliefs that you have, and allow your inner greatness to prevail.
