Weightless Burdens

Is it possible to still face everyday problems, and still have joy, and peace? Is it possible to smile, and have a glad heart even though every situation around you tells you to be burdened? Today I want to remind you that joy, peace, and a glad heart all are possible in the midst of adversity. Many times during our walk through life, we allow everyday problems to weigh us down. We carry burdens that we were never meant to carry. Our Heavenly Father is so gracious, and loves us so much, that He tells us to give Him every care, every hurt, and everything that may be weighing us down. He invites us to find peace, and rest in Him. Although the problem at hand may not go away, we are still able to hand over our thoughts by meditating on the Heavenly Father, and allow Him to steady our hearts. Be reminded, especially during this time of the year to seek peace in the Heavenly Father. Whatever burdens you may be carrying, allow Him to be your peace. Allow Him to help you smile. Allow Him to do what He has asked of you, and carry the stones that are weighing you down. He will sustain you through whatever it is you are faced with at this very moment. Allow love, hope, joy, and peace to replace your burdens. In all things, acknowledge Him, seek Him, and He will direct you in the way that you should go.

What does hope mean to you? For some of us, it’s hope for a better tomorrow. Your hope could be the expectation of Gods promises coming to pass in your life. For most of us, it’s also the anticipation of our final destination ‘Heaven.’ It’s not always easy to stay in a mindset of hope. When life happens we become distracted, and for a moment allow our hope to become a faint voice. We could all use an extra dose of hope. It could come in something as simple as a smile, or a hello. I’m sure you know someone that needs hope also. Maybe they are grieving the loss of a loved one. Maybe they feel as though life is really getting the best of them in this season. Whatever the reason, hope is something that we all need, and what sustains us. Our Heavenly Father is our ultimate source of hope. He is our strength when we feel weak, and our comforter, when we feel alone. He is our eyes when we can’t see, and the hand that carries us through life. Today, I want you to be reminded to carry hope with you wherever you go. Hope lives on the inside of you, because you are a believer of the most high. Share your hope with someone that needs it. Uplift a soul with a smile, and kindness. It’s in our service to others that our hope seems to grow. When we make our mission H.O.P.E ( Helping One Person Everyday ) we allow God to use us to touch the hearts of others, so that He can bring the change. In the end, hope carries a different meaning from person, to person. The one thing that remains the same, is the hope that we can give, and share with others. I pray that you would go forth, and make your mission H.O.P.E (Helping One Person Everyday). Hope is contagious, and one life changed is worth more than gold.

Encouragement For Today

What If?

As I was inquiring about what to share with you today, the Lord brought me back to this piece I wrote a few months ago. Sometimes the very same words the Holy Spirit instructs us to share with the world, is the very same words that will serve us as encouragement.

Have you ever thought about how you respond to opposition? Most of us give in, and give up, when faced with a little resistance. We convert to a defeated mindset, and quit. We think that pursuing a dream, or working towards a goal, is supposed to be easy. Often times, we become self defeated. We defeat ourselves before even trying. We get stuck in a “what if” mindset. What if it doesn’t work? What if I fail? What if no one listens? What if people don’t support me? These are all thoughts that amount to nothing but wasted time. They devalue our courage, and willingness to try. That way of thinking, forces you to place your faith in yourself, leaving no room for you to trust God, for the results. They make you tremble at the thought of rejection. Those kind of thoughts also force you to stay inside of your comfort zone, where nothing ever grows. It’s amazing how our thoughts shape our reality. We have to reprogram our way of thinking. Instead of entertaining thoughts of defeat, we should start entertaining thoughts of victory. It will work. I will not fail. People will listen. People will support me. I’m a willing vessel, trusting God, to acknowledge my work. Not everyone will understand your vision. Everyone will not support you, and everyone is not going to appreciate your gifts. The one thing that I do know, is that opposition, builds character, if you allow it to. It forces you to see beyond the things that are in front of you. It forces you to see the possibilities. It gives you more drive. It increases your faith. It forces you to prove fear wrong. So Today, I encourage you to look beyond where you currently are. Keep trying, keep working, and don’t give up. If you never go, you’ll never know what things are possible. If you don’t try, you have everything to lose. There is a world full of people who need what you have. Go forth, make it count, choose not to be defeated by your thoughts, and you “WILL” win.

Remind Me

Have you ever overcame a rough patch in your life, that now seems like a distant memory? Maybe you are experiencing another rough patch, and have no idea as to how you are going to make it through. Often times, we forget about those moments in our past where God answered a prayer, and carried us to the other side. We forget about the promises we made to the Heavenly Father. We even forget about the promises that He made to us in His word. Be reminded today, that the Same God that saw you through previous rough patches in your life, is the same God that will carry you to the other side this time. When we think back over our lives, and the goodness of God, it gives us hope for the future. It allows us to see Gods hand in every situation big, or small. It allows our trust in the Heavenly Father to be unwavering. I pray that whatever you are currently facing in your life, is interrupted by a reminder. A reminder that you will be okay. A reminder that you will overcome. A reminder that God is with you. A reminder that you are not walking alone. A reminder that the Heavenly Father still hears your prayers. Sometimes in the midst of going through, it is hard to remind ourselves of the journey we have already traveled. Pray and ask the Heavenly Father to remind you. Ask Him to help you to see Him in the midst of your circumstances. May you be reminded today, that He has not carried you this far to leave you.

8. What motivates you? There are many things that motivate me. I love seeing people happy, and winning at this thing called life
9. How do you think your friends see you? There are various aspects to me. I’m silly, serious, funny, and mysterious all in one. I guess it depends on the situation, or moment. I would like to think they see me as well-rounded.
10. What would be your idea for saving the environment from pollution ? Great question, I would say finding a way to make it impossible for people to litter. Ban all toxic chemicals that harm humankind, or the earth.
11. Happy or peaceful, what is more important to you? Can I choose both? There are benefits to both, and a motto to live by.

I enjoyed answering your questions, they forced me to think, and reminded me of some very important reasons as to why I started blogging in the first place.

Just Be Kind

Image result for national kindness dayIn honor of World Kindness Day, let’s all remember to make kindness a daily part of our lives. Kindness should not be treated like a foreign language, it should be who we are, and something we embrace. Simple acts of kindness changes lives each and every day. We all have been at a point in our lives where a smile from a stranger, hug, or acknowledgment, brightened our day. As beacons of light, we are called to love, and show kindness to everyone. It doesn’t matter the ethnicity, beliefs, or race. At the end of the day, the same Savior that carried the cross for you, carried the cross for everyone else also. It’s not going to always be easy to step outside of yourself and see each and every person through the eyes of Christ; but through Him we are able to strive to love like Him. As you go throughout your day, remember that no act of kindness will ever go wasted. Be kind, be love, spread hope, and go out and be a blessing, even if it’s just a smile.

Encouragement For Today

Believe In Yourself

Throughout most of our lives, we’ve been conditioned to doubt ourselves. Have you ever wanted to climb a tree as a kid, and were told not to because you “might” fall? That is usually where it all starts. Although there is risk, like anything in life, you will soon start to doubt if you can even make it up the first limb. Believing in yourself is not always easy. There will always be those negative memories where someone may have laughed at your dream. There will always be those that will doubt your capabilities; not because they don’t believe you can, but because they don’t believe in themselves. There will always be the limitations of our minds that we will have to prove wrong daily. You have to believe that whatever you are hoping for is possible. Despite what anyone says, or what your current circumstances look like. When you close your eyes, can you see it? Can you see what your life will look like when you arrive? Can you feel the excitement, and the beating of your heart. Are you proud of yourself? How are you currently living? are your actions in alignment with where you desire to be? If you desire a deeper understanding of God, are you investing time in building that relationship? If you desire to write a novel, are you writing? If you desire to lose weight, have you made the necessary lifestyle changes? We have to reprogram our minds to believe, and not doubt. We must believe its possible, visualize, act as if, and take action. Don’t allow fear to rob you of your dreams. Remember that fear is a liar, and only desires to stop you in your tracks. I believe in you. The Heavenly Father knows you can, because He created you with a plan in mind. You know that you are capable of more. Be encouraged today to simply start over if you’ve already quit. Belief in yourself is the beginning, so just start there.

Waiting On A Sign

What do you do when you are no longer sure if the place you are currently in your life, is where God wants you to be? Thoughts of doubt, and confusion somehow starts to make you question the very thing that you were instructed to do. Often times in life, whether it’s in our spiritual walk, or pursuing  personal endeavors, we can feel as though we’ve hit a brick wall. We look around, and see all that we’ve accomplished, but can’t seem to see beyond where we currently are. In the beginning, you were on fire, and excited about going deeper in Christ; but now your excitement seems to have dwindled. Maybe you started working on your passion, and things are not happening the way you envisioned, so you are not longer sure if it’s for you. Whatever it is, know that there will always be opposition. Your very own thoughts can be the opposition you are facing. Overcoming your need and desire for acceptance can be the opposition you are facing. Looking to others for approval can be the opposition you are facing. Often times we pray for a sign from above while neglecting the fact that we have already been instructed. As I remind you, I also remind myself. Continue pursuing your passions. Continue building a beautiful relationship with the Heavenly Father. Continue praying with persistence. Continue writing because one life changed, can easily become a million. I believe that you are right where you need to be, for a time such as this. Stay encouraged, and looking to heaven. In all that you do, serve with a pure heart, and the Heavenly Father will honor you.

Waiting To Start Over

Why do we wait to start things that we know we should be doing? One of the biggest lies that we tell ourselves is that we will wait for a new year to start over, or start something new. We’re constantly sabotaging our own success by putting things off, or waiting. Honestly speaking, I was the best at waiting for a new year to start new things, or start over. I thought that a new year, would somehow create a new me. After years of going around the same mountain, I realized that if the Heavenly Father offers me the opportunity to start over every second of the day, then why should I enforce such rules upon myself?

You don’t have to wait for a new year to forgive. You don’t have to wait for a new year to go deeper in Christ. You don’t have to wait for a new year to start working on your dream. You don’t have to wait for a new year to get healthier, and lose weight. If you want to do it, start now. Anything that we do will come with trial and error, and that’s the beauty of it all. His grace is sufficient when we fall short, or don’t get it right. I challenge you to visit those things that you’ve put off, and ask yourself why. Why, and what are you waiting for? Are you waiting for the perfect time? Are you waiting on your fear to pass? Are you waiting for the approval of others? Or are you just being a little lazy ( LOL ) we’ve all been there. Remember that you have all that you need to start. Believe, have faith, trust the process, and start walking.

More Than Anything

Help me want the Healer more than the healing
Help me want the Savior more than the saving
Help me want the Giver more than the giving
Help me want you Jesus more than anything

-Natalie Grant-

On this long journey called life, there are so many things that keep us distracted from what really matters. A lot of those things wont really matter in the end. We seem to always be in get state of mind, always desiring, and wanting more, and more. Today I am reminded to simply want the one who heals, who saves, and who gives. Jesus, we just want more of you. We want to rest in who you are, and not in what you do, and give us. Search our hearts oh Lord, and make it pure. Help us not to put anything before you. Help us to not always approach your thrown with a get state of mind, but with a mind, and heart of thanksgiving. You are our source, and our reason for being. Today we say thank you for who you are in our lives. Today we say thank you for your mercy, grace, and favor upon our lives. Help us want you Jesus, more than anything.
